Cylinder Heads, Pistons, Barrels and Engine Building
This new range of Misano cylinder heads represents a world
first for the production of new, high-performance parts for Ducati Singles.
We have kept the appearance of the original Ducati heads to ensure acceptance
into all classic and vintage racing organisations around the world. Where
there were improvements to be made to increase durability and strength,
these have been incorporated. The original 80 degree included valve angle
has been retained. However the main changes have been to the induction and
exhaust ports and the shape of the combustion chamber. The ports and valve
geometry have been optimised to allow far better performance than the original
parts could achieve. All heads are supplied with two 10mm plug holes, the
second plug situated to the rear of the bevel tunnel where the 450 decompressor
plunger is fitted. The combustion chamber has an extensive continuous squish
band
All existing rocker covers, bevel gear (gazer)/rev counter covers and cam
bearing support block are re-used.
Misano heads have been designed and manufactured to go racing they can also
be run on road engines, giving a significant performance improvement over
standard heads.
Barrels
Whilst developing the heads, we also decided to produce
new alloy barrels to match the head.
Pistons
The redesigned combustion chamber of the Misano heads with
a significant and continuous squish area requires pistons to suit. All pistons
are designed to be able to run in existing barrels and iron liners.
We can supply a complete head, barrel and piston set for 250 and 350 cc
engines, ready for assembly, with no piston squish shimming or machining
required.

Engine
Building
A number of our customers have asked us to help with engine building and
this is a service we are now happy to provide. We are interested in helping
you get the best performance out of your Misano components and so our engine
building service is primarily aimed around fitting Misano parts to your
donor engine. We also prefer to strip and examine the engine to ensure there
are no problems from previous wear and tear. This service can include fitting
the engine back into the frame and then dyno testing the complete package.
We will also undertake restoration of Ducati road engines and all work is
carried out to race-quality standards.
